From Bengaluru, about sixty kilometers of countryside stretch, all along the Kanakpura road is an ideal destination for cross-country cycling. The trail passes through the dense thorny shrub forests of Banneerghata National Park and the Rangaswamy hills. A mix of tar road and rough jeep tracks interconnects small villages ultimately creating a huge network of cycling trails. There are plenty of hillocks suitable as camping grounds. The route gives a first hand experience of the village lifestyle, tradition and understanding their interesting relationship with nature.
